  2. Introduction Last year, a proposal came to the Indian Nursing Council requesting to allow commerce and arts stream students to apply for B.Sc. Nursing. The proposal also contains all the rules that will be followed for the admissions of students from the following streams. “Nursing is not a career…it’s a post-apocalyptic survival skill” The admission rules in the draft proposed state as follows ● Students coming from any of the streams Science, Humanities, Arts or Commerce will be able to apply for the B.Sc.

B.SC.(BASIC) NURSING Education eligibility criteria: Students have completed their higher secondary education, i.e. passed 12th standard(10+2) from the science stream having one of the subjects as Biology. Students must have achieved at least 45% of marks in subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Biology combined together. It is also mandatory for all the students to pass the English subject individually. Students should have there positive medical reports, i.e. students are needed to be fit medically. Students will be admitted only once per year when the new batches start. For all the students applying for admissions, the one who belongs to Scheduled Castes(SC), Scheduled Tribes(ST), or Other Backwards Classes(OBC), the scores achieved in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Biology took together in the qualifying examination be 40%.

  4. POST BASIC B.SC. NURSING Education Eligibility Criteria – who all are eligible to apply for Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing is as follows: Students who have passed higher secondary education i.e. completed (10+2) standard classes or equivalent examinations recognized by the universities provide the course. Applicants who have passed (10+1) in the year 1986 or before are also eligible to apply. Candidates registered as R.N.R.M at the State Nurses Registration Council and having a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery are also eligible. A male nurse, trained before the implementation of the new integrated course, shall produce evidence of training approved by the Indian Nursing Council

  5. NURSING COURSES AFTER 12TH ARTS OR COMMERCE Students from commerce and arts streams can choose from the 2 nursing courses after the 12th: 1. ANM (Auxilary Nursing and Midwifery) 2. GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery)

  6. 1. ANM (AUXILARY NURSING AND MIDWIFERY) 2. GNM(GENERAL NURSING AND MIDWIFERY) ANM is a diploma course of duration 2 years. The main aim of this course is to train students into nursing professionals so that they can use their skills in the villages where fewer available.Special focus is given towards the medical health of old age people, children, and women. GNM is a diploma course of duration three and a half years, in which three years are for academics and a half year is for an internship. facilities are
