  1. 3 Axis Selective Coating Machine – things that you need to know For the electronics of the present days, it can be said that they are much more used in the present day environments. With the fast growth and usage of the outdoor electronic applications, there has been an increment in the volume of electronic circuits that need to be coated. During the design of the PCB in the initial days, there was no attention to the coating ability of the circuit boards. And this is what resulted in the problem areas for the selective conformal coating. This is where the importance of 3-axis selective coating machine comes into play. While dealing with the coating of electronics, you will be confronted with certain problem areas that will require special attention. These areas include PCB not being designed for coating, the fine pitch connectors, and the open connectors. Most of the coating materials that are used are solvent-based and they are low in viscosity. In simple terms, they are as liquid as water and this is why it is important to pay attention to their special requirements.

  2. The flexibility of the 3 axis selective coating machine needs to be considered. The flexibility is the function of the types of coating materials it can handle, the sizes of boards it can coat and how easily it will change between them. The flexibility is one of the primary concerns of a contract manufacturer since they need to coat a wide range of boards while using different materials. Integrated solutions and system flexibility are extremely important. Safety is a very serious concern of the coating process. The usage of solvent-based materials needs proper safety procedures that need to be followed for preventing the hazardous condition. The fact that selective coating process includes the use of robot and conveyors ensures the requirement of approved guards and also interlocks. There are a lot of production facilities that require systems that are designed complying with international safety standards.

  3. The 3 axis selective coating machines are classified into two forms, they are either atomized deposition or they are a non-atomized deposition. Air-spray technology is an example of the atomization process. During the atomization, breaking material into the particles, there will be some droplets that drift. There are a lot of particles in the center of the pattern that land in the desired area but a few particles land outside. This is what results in a non-uniform ragged edge which is not acceptable. If a sharp edge is required, there will be a requirement of a second pass along with a bead dispense.
