DESCRIPTION OF THE SUBJECT • Thissubject has thepurpose of teachingthelanguageacquisitiontheories as well as thedifferentaspectswhichtakepart in theteaching-learningprocess of a studentwhoislearning English oranyotherlanguage. • Thestudentswillidentifyimportanttheories and willdiscussaboutthem in order to fostertheircriticalthinking and also to know more about socio-affectivefactorsthat emerge in a studentthatlearns a secondlanguage. • Thelearnerswillhavetheopportunity to discoverlanguagemethodsforthe L2 and theapproachesthat can be used in order to teach a secondlanguage.

METHODOLOGY • Themethodology of thissubjectis a hollisticonewhichwillenhancethetheoryfromclasses to thepractice of it. • Thecontentswill be analyzedbythestudents in depthconcerning to teaching and learningaspects in order to learn more aboutclassroommanagement. • Differentevaluationinstrumentswill be carryout , such as lessonplans, visual aids, realia, etc.

  16. EVALUATION LABORATORY • Theactivitiessuch as homework and tasksfromthe virtual campus are worth a 20% of your score. Theother 80% are thequizzes in each of theterms. (writtentests, researchprojects, oral presentations.) TERM PAPER • The 100% are mid-termswichwill be oral presentations,(withrubrics) writtenexamsormicroteachings.

LECTURES MODEL • Thisclassrequiresplenty of autonomouslearning, thusthestudentswillhave to pre- readthebibliographygivenbytheteacherbeforeclass, not in theclass. • Itmeansthatitwill be requiredfromthestudents a seriouscommitment in order to fullfilthe personal expectation to succeed in thissubject. • Classeswillrequireplenty of active participation, sincetheteacherwillaskaboutcontentsstudied and thestudentswillhave to be readyforgivinganansweraboutwhatwasreadwithanticipation.
