  1. What Are the Different Senior Living Options Available for Senior Population? As the concept of senior living communities is growing, new living options are unfolding. At first, the only option senior retirees have is to move to a hospital. There they get help in their daily activities and medications. Then the concept of nursing homes and assisted living centers were introduced, which was more comfortable and home-like. Now with independent senior living communities, senior retirees can move a new home where they can live independently and enjoy the benefits provided to them. Even though there are so many options available, people still get confused, which is best for them. Well, here is a list of the best senior living options with a brief detail about them. Different Senior Living Options Independent Senior Living Communities Independent senior living communities, also known as senior apartments, are the senior living facilities specially designed for the senior population who required special medical care or need assistance with their daily works. These communities provide private living accommodations and all essential amenities. Generally, they provide an apartment with 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, a living area, and a bathroom. But some communities also provide options like row houses, villa, and cottage, which you can choose according to your needs and budget. Apart from that, these communities also provide 24x7 assistance if you need it. Provides transportation, organizes different events in which you can participate and enjoy. Assisted Living Centres Unlike the independent senior living communities, assisted living centers are a place for the senior population, who require intensive continuous health care and continuous assistance with their daily Calamar l www.calamar.com

Generally, assisted living centers provide a private or semi-private (shared by 2) rooms. Also, they have a common living area, dining area, and bathrooms. As the residents required continues assistance, some staff members always remain with them. Nursing Homes A nursing home is very similar to the hospital. It is a place for senior people who need extensive medical care and attention. Just like in the assisted living centers, nursing homes also provide assistance to their patients in performing daily activities. They help you in getting dressed, helps you in eating, walking around, and assistance for bathing and toileting. Although nursing homes are similar to a hospital, there are many places that are set up for a more home-like environment. It is also seen that getting into nursing is not always possible, and many of them have a long waiting list. Some nursing homes only accept a specific type of patient, while others have some other criteria. Continues Care Centres Continuous care centers can be understood as a place where the senior retirees can live for a long time. In these centers, the residence can start living independently until they can. Then in case, they need assistance and extensive medical care, they can transit into assisted living or nursing centers without relocating. Continuous care centers can be expensive, and while you move, you have to sign a life care contract. It is a modified contract in which you have to pay an entrance fee and monthly health fee. The amount of health care fees increases with the amount of health care you get. In case of emergency, you even have to pay the market price for your health care. Conclusion It doesn’t matter if you live in some 55+ apartments near Des Moines or nursing home near Kansas until you are satisfied. In the senior age satisfaction is the key to happiness and as long as you are happy, you can spend your life anywhere. Calamar l www.calamar.com
