spectrin, alpha, non-erythrocytic 1 (alpha-fodrin)

https://www.creativebiomart.net/symbolsearch_SPTAN1.htm<br>Spectrins are a family of filamentous cytoskeletal proteins that function as essential scaffold proteins that stabilize;the plasma membrane and organize intracellular organelles. Spectrins are composed of alpha and beta dimers that;associate to form tetramers linked in a head-to-head arrangement. This gene encodes an alpha spectrin that is;specifically expressed in nonerythrocytic cells. The encoded protein has been implicated in other cellular functions;including DNA repair and cell cycle regulation. Mutations in this gene are the cause of early infantile epileptic;encephalopathy-5. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.

We selected most pathways SPTAN1 participated on our site, such as Tight junction, which may be useful for your reference. Also, other proteins which involved in the same pathway with SPTAN1 were listed below. Creative BioMart supplied nearly all the proteins listed, you can search them on our site. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by SPTAN1 itself. We selected most functions SPTAN1 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with SPTAN1. You can find most of the proteins on our site.
