Alpine Union School District Inspiring Creativity, Innovation and Excellence! • Welcome to Alpine Union School District. • We nestled in the Cuyamaca Mountains in east county San Diego. • We are a friendly community of approximately 15,000 residents. • We serve approximately 1,750 students in grades K-8. • We pride ourselves on having a “hometown” feel where students and families come first!

  3. Alpine Union School District Inspiring Creativity, Innovation and Excellence! Programs We offer a range of programs, including : American Indian Education Program, English Learner Services, Foreign Language Immersion, Special Education, Work Ability.

  4. Alpine Union School District Inspiring Creativity, Innovation and Excellence! American Indian Education The mission of the American Indian Education Program is to support and meet the unique educational and culturally related academic needs of American Indians.

  5. Alpine Union School District Inspiring Creativity, Innovation and Excellence! English Learner Education The purpose of the English Learner Services (ELS) program is to facilitate the development of English language skills for students whose primary language is not English as identified by the Home Language Survey (completed upon initial enrollment) which indicated that a language other than English is spoken by the student at home.

Foreign Language Immersion We are proud to host a Dual Spanish Language Immersion Program on its Creekside Early Learning Center Campus and at Shadow Hills Elementary. The purpose of the program is to meet the needs of parents who see the value of giving children the gift of bilingualism.

  7. Alpine Union School District Inspiring Creativity, Innovation and Excellence! Special Education Special education students are those students who have been assessed and identified as individuals with exceptional needs by the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team.

Work Ability The Work Ability I (WAI) grant programs provide comprehensive training in work, employment placement and follow-up for middle and high school students in special education who are making the transition from school to work, independent living and post-secondary education or training.
