  1. On the Wait List with PLIA Designs

  2. Normally I loathe waiting lists. I’ve always had an aversion to them because the wait sometimes takes so long that when the product is finally here, you don’t even want it anymore. And in this day of instant gratification, it almost seems archaic that waitings lists still exist.

  3. But they do exist and especially in the fashion world. Once a product becomes smoking hot and everyone wants it, then the product becomes extremely difficult to find. When you contact websites and a brands boutique, they will tell you that you need to get on a waiting list if you want the product.

  4. Well guess what? I recently put myself on a waiting list. I can’t believe. My friends definitely didn’t believe it when I told them. Everyone was shocked. But I explained to all of them that I couldn’t stop staring at a handbag I found in a magazine. Two months earlier VOGUE magazine had profiled an accessories firm.

  5. The editor went on to highlight a satchel that the line makes. I cut the article out and I’ve been daydreaming about this beautiful handbag ever since. It’s taped right about my laptop in my home office. So after a few weeks of thinking about this handbag, I decided to go to the accessories website.

  6. The brand is called PLIA Designs and they create collections of luxurious designer handbags, satchels, carryalls, and leather goods. As stated in the VOGUE article, all of PLIA’s products are hand stitched by a master leather craftsman. Their craftsman was classically trained in Italy.

  7. After exploring PLIA Designs website for a few moments, I found the satchels. They were called the Reid courier satchels. As luck would have it, they were all sold out. And no wonder. Probably countless other fashionables had also read the article.

  8. But they were probably smarter than me and knew to order right away before the mad fashion rush began. I didn’t know what to do. I felt gutted. I know it’s silly and it’s only fashion so basically a big first world problem, but I really wanted this particular handbag. I figured PLIA Designs would be busy with all of the recent publicity, but they answered my email right away.

  9. A gentleman was quick with a reply to let me know that they had started a waiting list for this particular handbag. He stated it would be a few months before their new stock could ship as each handbag is individually handcrafted. I replied to please put my name on the waiting list.

  10. So there you have it! The first and hopefully only time I put my name on a waiting list. But I simply couldn’t help it. These beautiful designer handbags by PLIA Designs are absolutely worth the wait!
