Facts About Marco Polo • Marco Polo was born in Venice 1254 and died there in 1324 • Marco Polo was 6 when his uncle set out for Cathay for the first time • When Marco Polo was 15, his father and uncle set out for Cathay a second time and decided to bring him • He is the most famous westerner who traveled on the Silk Road • He excelled all the other travelers with his determination, his writing, and his influence • Marco Polo’s journey through Asia lasted 24 years. He traveled China and came back to tell the tale which became the best travelogue • Constantinople was the one who let Marco Polo travel to Asia
