Goals: • Identify your brightest color of character and personality • Recognize and understand the unique strengths and talents of yourself and of others • Learn how to use a blended approach to increase collaboration in the various groups in which you work • Learn how to identify the colors of others and enhance your school team to meet different communication styles.

  3. Belief that we all have deep-rooted characteristics which drive human behavior • Four colors to identify distinct perspectives and personalities • Dominant color & influenced or “shaded” by the other three colors, thus creating a “True Colors Spectrum”.

  4. The History • Myers-Briggs Personality Assessment (1923) – 16 different personalities • Keirsey and Bates – (1984) Character & Temperament Types: “Please Understand Me” Updated the research • Don Lowry – (1998, 2001, 2004) True Colors researched with Keirsey’s work

  7. Record your True Colors Spectrum on page 20; then go back and read about your brightest color: Orange – pgs. 12, 13 Yellow – pgs. 14, 15 Blue – pgs. 16, 17 Green – pgs. 18, 19

  8. Time to Reveal Your True Color Spectrum… Dots… left to right on your Billboard, most like you to least like you… (Write your score on each dot too.)

  9. Reflections….. Write about your True Color. What did you learn about: Ideas You Discovered, Feelings You Experienced, Questions to Pursue, Next Steps

  10. TASKS: • Introduce your True Color (No “Color Bashing”) • Review and discuss the “Framing Your True Color” handouts • Complete the “Team Statement” handout (independently)
