  1. Many people aiming to achieve their lifeguard certification often ask how to become a lifeguard and what are the necessary requirements to do so. • Typically, all it takes is to have a want to help people, a passion to learn and of course, enjoy spending time in the water. Introduction

  2. Becoming a lifeguarddoes require an initial investment of time and money. Certification courses cost anywhere from $150 to $500, and take upwards of 30 hours to complete.  • If you have a specific facility where you would like to work, check with the manager to see what type of lifeguard certification they prefer. • There are some big swimming pool management companies like red cross and also experienced ones like Aquatic management.
