  2. Aims of the Association • To provide motor clubs in the region with support. • To provide a channel of communication for motor clubs direct to the Motor Sports Association • to provide regional championships for the benefit of members of member clubs

  3. Aims continued • To provide a structure for motor sport in a geographical region • to provide an opportunity for member clubs to disseminate information • to provide an opportunity for member clubs to receive representatives from motor sport management

  4. Aims continued • To improve purchasing power of clubs when buying equipment • to provide a pool of expertise for member clubs to draw on • to prepare policies and guidelines for member clubs • to disseminate information from all clubs to other member clubs

  5. History of the Association • ANEMMC was founded in the 1970s with some 15 clubs. It has expanded to its present size of 43 clubs. The Association goes from strength to strength both in size and its effectiveness in meeting its aims.

  6. Association Activities • The Association runs two very popular Championships - the Stage Rally Championship and Road Rally Championship.

  7. Association Activities • Club delegates meet together 4 times each year. At each meeting a visitor will be invited to address the meeting on some topical issue. Minutes of these proceedings are sent to all member clubs

  8. Association activities • The Association is actively engaged in representing member clubs to local councils and other interested bodies. • The Association acts to prevent erosion of its rights and activities

  10. The Way Forward • The Association intends to continue to meet its aims. • The Association aims to promote itself and its member clubs through the Press and other media. • Youth in the Association is a high priority. An ageing executive needs new blood.

  11. The Way Forward • Funding of a scheme to encourage new competitors into the sport. • Development and support of the Association teams to participate in Inter-Association events. • Closer links with other sports through the use of Regional Development officers.

  12. The Way Forward • Protection of existing motor sport venues and sourcing and development of new ones. • A programme of training for officials of the Association. • A programme to encourage new officials into the management of events.

  13. Motor sport is well and thriving in the North East Midland Regions. The Association is strong in its endorsement of motor sport. The Association is recognised as an important forum for motor sport in this region and is recognised as such by other official bodies. Conclusions
