  1. Cloud Computing Technology- an Overview This next-generation technology, cloud-computing is a web-based technology that provides quality services including data and software to users on remote servers. Cloud refers to a Network or Internet and is available even at remote areas. Thus, cloud provides benefits over web or systems, both private and open. Cloud runs various applications such as, web conferencing, email, customer relationship management (CRM). MODELS: There are mainly two kinds of working models for distributed computing- 1.Deployment Model 2.Service Model Deployment Model: Deployment model describes how the cloud is found i.e. the type of accessibility to the cloud environment. This is of four types: a)Private: Only particular organizations within their own data centrescan get access to private cloud. All the cloud sources owned by the organizations are managed by them. Private cloud is costlier than public or open cloud, but provides more security and productivity. b)Public: All the registered external clients can get access to this cloud and utilize its resources through Internet on a pay-per use basis. This is managed by Cloud Service Provider (CSP). It is more open for all the internet users, but less secured and less customizable. c)Community: A number of organisations together build a community and utilize a similar cloud infrastructure setting policies, values, requirements, and concerns. It provides user organizations a level of democratic equilibrium and economic scalability. This is more secured than the public cloud. d)Hybrid: Public, private, and community clouds in combination build hybrid cloud. The public cloud monitors the non-critical activities, whereas the private cloud operates the central activity. Service Model: Service model is cloud-computing based functional models. There are three major types of services- a)Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) b)Platform as a Service (PaaS) c)Software as a Service (SaaS)

  2. Fig: Cloud Computing CHARACTERISTICS: Cloud computing has these following characteristics in order to provide quality services to users- a)High availability: Cloud-computing increases the availability of servers, therefore reduces the chances of disappointment. b)High reliability: Cloud-computing is not only available but also reliable for users to utilize for various purposes. c)High scalability: It is available on request provisions on a huge scale without human cooperation. d)Multi-sharing: By sharing fundamental infrastructure and utilizing distributed computing different customers and applications can share it between them at a less cost. e)Agility: The resources are sharable among various users and are quicker in work.

  3. f)Maintenance: The maintenance is very easy as they do not require to be installed in each computer. They are easily accessible from different places. g)Cost-effective: The maintenance is cost-effective as the organisations only have to pay for the resources it consumes. BENEFITS: a)Clients can utilize it for a number of purposes, get a wide number of uses without having extra permission, purchasing requirement, or downloading or introducing any applications. b)It reduces both installation and running costs of software and computer as there is no need of having any infrastructure. c)Clients can get access to any data at any place if they have interface with a system.
