Among the highlights of the show, what stood out was also the promise of the revival of the office cubicle, of course it won’t be sans a twist.

Here are the five trends that are fast gaining popularity when it comes to modern furniture in NYC scene • Re-used materials With concern for the environment growing exponentially, designers and manufacturers of office furniture have chosen to capitalize on it. Materials such as wood and metal are classic, but they are slowly being replaced by their by-products and alloys. ‘Bent-board’ furniture, that is made from environmental composite board panels are gaining popularity. The usage of bamboo too has made its mark. • Asymmetrical shapes and wide open spaces Open office spaces call for furniture that is not geometric in design, however, the trend has been taken up a notch by creating furniture that is asymmetrical. Also layers are being added; that is shapes being piled on each other to create new shapes are gaining popularity with respect to office furniture designs.
