  1. Fascinating Chinese Wedding Traditions It is a common saying that marriages are fixed at the heaven and we the humans just act like puppets that simply walk through the path of life to finally choose our life partners. It has been since ages, that marriage is considered a very sacred and holy ritual where a girl and a boy tie their knot and wish to spend the rest of their life together. It is regardless of the country or religion a person belongs, marriage is considered as the most memorable and precious moment of his life.

  2. The Traditional Chinese Wedding Dresses and Rituals The Chinese wedding dresses have considerably attained a worldwide fame just because of its antique and artistic embroidery. If the rituals preceding the Chinese wedding are actually devoted to its ancient culture and tradition which is actually still prevalent in China. These particular rituals have its deep impact on the wedding dress of both the bride and groom. It is basically believed that the wedding dress should never reflect black, blue or gray colour as it may be a sign of sorrow to their upcoming married life. Hence red and white are the two most prominently used colours in Chinese as well as other culture's wedding dress. The red colour is basically considered as the symbol of love and prosperity; and thus in most of the dresses red is includes as their base colour. It is seen that even the candles, flowers, ribbons and fireworks, all used are of colour red. The Dress and Colour As it is mentioned earlier, the red is considered as the favourite colour, as for all Chinese people red is considered as good luck that helps to keep evil spirits away. Thus one will find that the bride and groom wear is in red in their wedding part. The traditional Chinese wedding dress especially in northern Chinese usually is one piece frock called Qipao, which is embroidered with elaborate gold and silver design. The brides in Southern China basically prefers to wear two-piece dress named Qungua or Kwa, which is also an elaborately adorned with gold dragon and phoenix. The Covering Veil   It is during the traditional Chinese wedding ceremony, that the bride is handed by her groom. Her head is basically fully covered by a red veil which is usually falling down on to her shoulder for whole period of time. The veil is not taken off until and unless all the relatives and friends have left for their individual homes. It is the groom who needs to put the veil off by himself only. One can imagine the special and sweet moment when groom takes the veil off and sees a blush as well as a exciting face within the timid candlelight while they sit on the edge of new bed. Shoes It is during the wedding ceremony, that the bride usually wears a special pair of wedding shoes. For example we can take, in Southern Fujian Province, the bride usually has to wear a pair of shoes which is embroidered with the patterns of a turtle or a deer, which basically symbolizes blessing, happiness and longevity after marriage. It is either the bride or the others who can make the wedding shoes. These kinds of shoes are actually made with the help of red and green cloths and which are usually with a soft sole. When a bride is going to step into his sedan chair, she is actually supposed to wear these shoes. Again in some places, the relatives who are thought to have good fortune make such shoes, while in some other areas, they are basically made by the bride as well as another single girl just in the morning of the wedding day.
