  1. GrandyBridal.com ReviewServe At Your Wedding Reception For some couples, whether to have alcohol at their wedding reception is a no-brainer. Many couples as well as their guests expect alcohol to be served. If you and your fiancé for whatever reason decide not to serve alcohol, there is nothing wrong with your decision. There is extra expense, obligations and responsibility that comes along with serving alcohol. There are some people who make fools of themselves whenever alcohol is served and you must decide if that is something you are willing to cope with. You must also take into consideration the strict drinking and driving laws that are in effect. Though the laws differ from state to state, no matter where you are caught, it is a very serious offensive to be found to be drinking and driving.

  2. Should Guests Pay to Imbibe or Should Alcohol Be Free? This is a hotly debated issue when it comes to wedding receptions. Many people feel it is impolite to ask their guests to pay for drinks at a cash bar. Lots of couples who choose a cash bar option serve complimentary drinks during the cocktail hour, provide the champagne toast and after that the guests are on their own. This is a good way to take the responsibility off of your shoulders should anything unforeseen come up concerning alcohol consumption. Not only will this alleviate your responsibility for liability, but it will cost a lot less too. Think of the great add-ons to your honeymoon trip you will be able to afford if you only provide non-alcoholic beverages and have guests pay for their own buzz. Another option is to provide a set number of bottles of wine for each table. This provides alcohol for the guests, but will limit your bar bill at the end of the evening.

  3. It all Depends Where You have Your Reception Sometimes the venue you choose to have your reception will not allow alcohol on the premises. If you don't want to deal with the issue of alcohol, this may be the way for you to go. You will not have to explain why there isn't any drinks to those rude enough to ask as alcohol is banned from the property. Some reception halls will not allow you to furnish your own alcoholic beverages. If you choose this type of venue for your reception, you may have to take one of the alcohol plans they offer. If you have your reception at yours or someone else's house, whether you serve alcohol will be a decision that you and your fiancé share.
