Background Research • Commissioned by Irvine, Ford, Hewlett and Casey foundations • Identify and analyze community college best practices in developing career pathways • Three levels: institutional, regional and state • Internal focus: structure, programs, resources • External focus: partnerships with employers, WIBs, community based organizations • Site visits and interviews with four states including 19 community colleges and related workforce and employer partners www.workforcestrategy.org
