  1. Facilitating Women Entrepreneurs - Ebele Kemery Many scientific studies conducted over many years comparing men and women, have found out that women make better business people. This they say can be attributed to their ability to multi task. And their multi taking ability is a notch higher than that of men. They are also able negotiators and more likely to maintain healthy business relationships. Yet a very small percentage of spending, either corporate or government, fund women owned businesses. This anomaly is not conducive for the global economy as women have for the last 20 years contributed immensely to it. Male chauvinism has done more bad than good. Women have to be accepted as equals and should be given a fair treatment. Countries, their economies and markets have realized their folly as the voice for equality is loud and clear. The demand for change is stronger and it would do no good to not consider it. Men have to accept women as equals and acknowledge their contributions as major players. The woman consumer is well aware of the situation and it would be bad for many companies if they chose to ignore the plight of women. And since women are majority of the players in the small industries sector, ignoring them can cause great damage to the economy. It would lead to loss of possible employment opportunities thereby depriving the poor of livelihood. This will also affect the big industries as they are dependent directly or indirectly on the small ones

  2. In spite of the disheartening situation, there are positive vibes in many countries. There are programs exclusively made for women entrepreneurs, which provide them funding and advise them on running the business. Though these initiatives have helped many to achieve success, there are lots more out there who are yet to reap such benefits. Many business schools have women specific programs to promote entrepreneurship among women. Some of these schools have tie ups with networks across many industries to help accommodate women. And many of these networks are run by successful business women who counsel their colleagues, mostly men. The tide is changing and it is only wise to allow it happen. Ebele Kemery is a member of the Global Fixed Income, Currency & Commodities (GFICC) Group and a Portfolio manager, is extremely passionate about female education and believes it to be one of the most powerful and effective tools a girl can be given in the fight against poverty, disease and malnutrition.
