  1. How does Yoga Help with Each Form of Movement Whether you are an emerging athlete new to the world of inter-sports or are a veteran of the game, you need to be able to move freely in any direction. This freedom of movement must be accompanied with minimal injuries and must enable you to perform any kind of exercise. Similar to weight-training where the movements mainly involve a lot of lifting, pushing and pulling, Yoga helps athletes in developing he types of movements that are pivotal to improving performance and creating a safe workout routine for each athlete, irrespective of sport. Let’s take a look at some of the major movement patterns that Yoga helps improve. •Standing Poses – Yoga helps to build leg strength by incorporating asanas like Warrior Pose II and Triangle Pose. This not only helps gain a better stance when performing their respective sports but it also adds to the flexibility in the hips and hamstrings. •Balancing Poses – There are many asanas that are aimed solely at improving balance. The ability to balance oneself in a difficult position requires a lot of training on the part of the athlete. With exercises like Forward Lunge Walk, Tree Pose and Eagle Pose one can hope to gain more control over their bodies and increase body awareness and stabilization. •Twists – Yoga also improves posture, shoulder-mobility, respiration, digestion, elimination and health of spine and nervous system by incorporating twisting movements that help serve this purpose. Asanas like Noose Pose, Half Lord of the Fishes Pose and Revolved Triangle Pose are some common asanas in pilates yoga fusion that many athletes practice.
