  2. What is 916 Gold? • Standardisation recognise pure from impure. • It is the percentage of gold present in the alloy used to make the gold jewellery or coins. • 91.6% of pure gold in the alloy.

What is the difference between 22 Karat gold and 916? • Both are same • 916 old has a proportion of 91.6 grams pure 24 karat gold in 100 grams of alloy • 22/24 in percentage is 91.6. • 22 Karat is considered as the ideal proportion. • 24 Karat is the purest form but it is too soft and with low malleability to make ornaments out of it • If gold is only for investment 24 Karat is prefered
