  3. Nord vaudois Ideas for pilot projects 1) Organising a retail and distribution network 2) Carsharing by internet or by sms 3) Networking of sport facilities and meeting rooms 4) Exchange network for several services

  4. Project 1 : Organising a retail and distribution network • Distribute food items in villages without stores. • Put in order by internet or phone and organize a delivery service (post for exemple) in the remaining local public institution of the village (restaurants, tea room, postal agency, etc.) • State of the project : • Collecting similar projects and aiming at the suitable municipalities • for this action.

  5. Project 2 : Carsharing (covoiturage) by internet or by sms People who make the same way each day can meet by internet or by sms other people to group the cars State of the project : Analysing similar projects

  6. Project 3 : Networking of sport facilities and meeting rooms The idea aims at answering the demand of the local associations and a better use of the existing facilities. State of the project : Only the idea

  7. Project 4 : Exchange network for several services (child care, gardening, etc.) • Copy-paste of a network existing in the city of Yverdon. • Spread this idea in the rural area. • State of the project : • Analysing how it works in Yverdon

Obersimmental-Saanenland • Regional framework • Current difficulties: • small structures in some areas of public services (schools, groceries, bakeries etc) • public transport (schedule, connections outside) • vocational / further education (< = > brain drain) • dependence from tourism (as opportunity and threat)

Obersimmental-Saanenland Ideas for pilot projects : focus education 1) Network of employers (SMEs) training young people 2) Optimize the offer of the different training institutions 3) Course for using the new technologies (target : old people) 4) College in three languages (german-french-english) 5) wireless connections Two reserve projects (only ideas) : - Use of hotel facilities for vocational meetings or trainings - To make easier the combination of job and ski competition for young people

Project 1 : • Network of employers (SMEs) training young people • Some SMEs have problems to continue their apprenticeship training positions and there is a lack of training positions in the tertiary sector (administration, trade), the future of the regional vocational school is precarious. More cooperation could ensure / create some training positions • Partners • regional vocational school in Saanen • SME’s and their association, professional organisations • State of the project / further proceeding • Collecting similar projects and other clarifications, building up of a project team

Project 2 : • Optimize the offer of the different training institutions • In the test area exist different organisations dealing with further / vocational education and all of them have some problems to finance their activities and to reach their target groups • Partners • Adult education centres (“Volkshochschule”) and other organisations • Economic chamber of Bernese Oberland • cantonal administration • State of the project / further proceeding • first clarifications = > concept for further proceeding

  12. Project 3 : Trilingual college in Saanen • In 2003 a college (“Gymnasium”) was founded in Saanen (as an agency of the college of Interlaken). To make this college more attractive also for external children the idea of a trilingual college emerged (Saanen is very closed to the french part of Switzerland and has many english speaking guests / inhabitants). • Partners • College of Saanen resp. Interlaken • Cantonal administration of Berne and Vaud • Municipality of Saanen and regional organisations • State of the project / further proceeding • Feasibility study is running = > decision further proceeding (pres. not integrated in PUSEMOR project)

Project 4 : Old people using new IC-technologies • The national provider of telecommunication Swisscom started in 2005 a programme to help elderly people using new IC-technologies (mobile phone, internet, E-mail). Towns and regions have the possibility to order a road bus with an educational team. For 2006 or 2007 it is planned to collaborate with Swisscom and to join this programme “Help point”. • Partners • Swisscom • regional and local institutions and organisations for elderly people • Municipalities (social administration) • State of the project / further proceeding • First contacts established (presumably not integrated in PUSEMOR project)

  14. Project 5 : Wireless connections • Due to topography the conventional IC connections (by cable) are both expensive and not very powerful. The national provider Swisscom seams interested to test new possibilities of wireless connections (“radiated beaming”). • Partners • Swisscom • ??? • SME’s • State of the project / further proceeding • Further talks in April with Swisscom

Chablais vaudois • Regional framework • Current affairs of concern : • Financing the 4 regional railway lines • Traffic saturation on mountain roads, high season parking problems in resorts • Telecommunication networks : poor availabilities in the mountain valleys • Building in the lowlands of a new regional hospital • Winter tourism strategies for the future

  16. Chablais vaudois Ideas for pilot projects 1) Multifunctional bus 2) Internet via wimax 3) Park & ride for the “Alpes vaudoises” 4) Active senior citizens network

Project 1 : Multifunctional bus To run test on a roaming bus offering various services such as postal, grocery, bakery, etc. to mountain communities State of the project : Setting up an implementation group Talks planned for April with the Swiss postal outfit, a retailer and local municipalities

  18. Project 2 : Internet via Wimax Not yet available in Switzerland, this new wireless technology offers high output links from a 20 km radius broadcast antenna State of the project : Mustering a local interest group Talks in April with Swisscom

  19. Project 3 : Park & Ride Plans to promote Park & Ride facilities and other implements to increase the use of public transportation State of the project : idea only

  20. Project 4 : Senior citizens network Take advantage of the early retired persons availability and capabilities to inform and provide public services through the regional internet platform www.chablais.ch Possible partners : younger senior citizens State of the project : idea only
