Total Duration : 13 Days Difficulty : Leisurely to Moderate Highest Altitude : 4,130M / 13,549FT Meals : Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner on trek, Breakfast in city Accommodation : Lodges on trek, Hotels in city Transportation : Public / Private Vehicles Best Months : February, March, April, May, September, October, November, December Group Size : 01 to 12 People Day to Day Itinerary DAY 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1310M / 4,297FT), transfer to Hotel (30 minutes drive) Welcome to the city of temples and the country of Himalayas! We will happily welcome you in Kathmandu International Airport and drive you to your designated hotel. You can get fresh and explore the city and explore local markets on your own. In the evening you will meet your trekking guide to have trip discussion. DAY 02: Drive to Pokhara (820M), explore lakeside in the evening (7 Hours Drive) Based on the itinerary you will either take tourist bus, private vehicle or flight to Pokhara. The drive is scenic throughout the countryside of Nepal. The flight is even more scenic over the Himalayan peaks. You will enjoy a beautiful day in Pokhara and get ready for the trek next day. Pokhara is the city of lakes and mountains. DAY 03: Drive to Dhampus Phedi, trek to Dhampus (1,770M) Wake up with fresh air in Pokhara and enjoy your breakfast before you start the drive to Phedi (about 30 minutes). The trekking trail starts with steep climbing for more than an hour. You will need to climb gentle uphill for about 2 hours before you reach Dhampus village. Dhampus village will give some impressive mountain views. DAY 04: Trek to Tolka (1,850M) You will start another day in the fresh air. Take your breakfast in the lodge, then start gentle climbing to a small pass. From here the trail descends to Pothana (1,890M) where we will stop for lunch.   2. Bheri Kharka and Bhichowk before we reach Tolka for overnight stay. It's a beautiful day and a natural walk. DAY 05: Trekking to Chhomrong (2,170M / 7,119FT - 4 Hours) Enjoy your breakfast in Tolka. You will commence our trek with small downhill walk and another gentle climbing to Landruk village. You have another descending inside beautiful green forests and towering waterfalls. Once you cross the Modi Khola (stream) you will reach New Bridge and shortly reach another village; Jhinu. From Jhinu Danda it's nearly 2 hours steep climbing where Chhomrong will be waiting for your arrival. Chhomrong is gateway to Annapurna Base Camp and is known as a Gurkha village. Enjoy beautiful views of Annapurna South (8091M) and Hiunchuli (6441M) from here. DAY 06: Trek to Dovan (2,510M / 8,234FT - 5 Hours) It's another day with lots of ups and downs throughout the trail. You will first descend to Chhomrong Khola (stream), cross it and start ascending towards Sinuwa. Sinuwa is situated on top of a hill where you will take your lunch. Once you have lunch we will continue the trek towards our destination. The trek starts with flat trail inside beautiful green forests then descends to Bamboo (2,340M). It's one more hour of gentle ascending to Dovan. This is a small village on the bank of Modi Khola, primarily focused on businesses. DAY 07: Trek to Deurail (3,230M / 10,597FT - 6 Hours) Here you come with short, steep and beautiful walk towards Deurali. Once you start ascending the Himalayan peaks also comes nearer to you. No doubt it is a difficult day but the beauties of nature makes you forget the tiredness. The route between Dovan and Himalayan Hotel (2,870M) is steep. You will stop here for lunch before commencing second part of the trail to Deurali for overnight. DAY 08: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp also known as Annapurna Sanctuary (4,130M / 13,549FT - 5 Hours) We pass through beautiful high alpine forests along with beautiful Himalayan views of snowy peaks. The walk through several spots known for avalanches is not less adventurous and challenging. If it is a trek in monsoon season we may need to find the alternative way to protect ourselves from avalanches coming from the top of the hills. Walking uphill for some hours we will reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp; a place surrounded by peaks in 360 degrees. The place offers views of several Himalayan peaks. The trek here becomes challenging both because of uphill walk and high altitude. Climbing further from Machhapuchhre Base Camp we may head towards Annapurna Base Camp where you will be surrounded by snow-capped white peaks from every side. It's the place with few lodges and magical / outstanding views. Enjoy your beautiful evening on this heavenly place. DAY 09: Trek back to Bamboo (2,340M / 7,677FT - 5 / 6 Hours) Enjoy our last morning in the high Himalayas before we follow the same route to reach Bamboo. You can enjoy taking pictures and watching sunrise over the Himalayas before getting the breakfast. From here we will descend down via Machhapuchhre Base Camp, Deurali, Himalaya Hotel and Dovan to reach Bamboo for another night. DAY 10: Trek to Jhinu (1,780M / 5,839FT - 5 Hours) The trail from Bamboo to Jhinu is same as we followed on earlier days. From Bamboo we will start the walk after short climbing before we reach Khudi Ghar. From Khudi Ghar the trail slowly drops down to Sinuwa. From Sinuwa the trail again goes down until we cross Chhomrong Khola from where another uphill walk to Chhomrong village starts.   3. descend down to Jhinu. Here if time permits then you can enjoy natural hot spring bath. DAY 11: Trek to Nayapul (1,070M / 3,510FT), drive to Pokhara (820M) Probably, this is the easiest day during the whole trek. The trail from Jhinu to Nayapul is mostly flat followed by Modi River.The trail passes through New Bridge, Kyuimi Village and Syauli Bazaar, Chimrong and Birenthati before we conclude our trek in Nayapul. It is a flat walk through rice paddies and green hills on the side. From Nayapul you will be transferred to Pokhara by a private vehicle. Enjoy another night in this beautiful city before we head to Kathmandu to end up this magical adventure. DAY 12: Drive [or fly with an extra charge] back to Kathmandu (1310M / 4,297FT - 7 Hours) We will follow the same highway through beautiful rivers, hills and small Nepalese settlements. The drive will take about 7 hours to drop us in Kathmandu. Form the tourist bus park you will be transferred to your hotel. In the evening you can explore the town probably buying souvenirs. DAY 13: Departure from Kathmandu Enjoy your last morning meal in this beautiful Himalayan country before we conclude our memorable Himalayan experience. Well established lodges are available in every places so there is no need to worry in terms of meals available. You will get a huge menu everyday from which you can order variety of meals. Handmade breads, eggs, rice, potatoes, curry items, noodles, soups, macaroni, spaghetti etc. are available almost in every places. Multiple lodges are available in every villages and some villages like Ghandruk, Sinuwa and Chhomrong has huge number of lodges. Even though a lot of meals available on the trek, it might not taste like the one you eat at home. Cooks are trained by local tourism management committee so they might not be advanced. They are not specialized for any cuisines so do not expect western standard meals. Lodges in every villages have similar menu and similar prices managed by tourism management committee. The meals are prepared fresh using locally available ingredients most of the time.   6. Accommodation We will accommodate you at Three Star category hotel in Kathmandu and Pokhara. These rooms will be clean with private bathroom inside. Kathmandu and Pokhara has western standard lodges / hotels available for accommodation. These rooms will be air conditioned. There will be twin / double room shared among two customers (Unless you are single). Sometimes we may accommodate you in triple rooms based on number of customers. If you have any special preferences regarding the bed selection then please let us know. Himalayan Leisure, Inc. is also glad to provide higher standard or budget hotels based on your interests. We understand that not all customers need similar standard accommodation. If you have any lodge name planned for your trip then you can tell us, we will try to accommodate you at your preferred place. Annapurna Base Camp Trek is an advanced and well developed trekking route and lodges are available for meals and accommodation in every places. Almost every lodges have twin rooms for trekkers. Double beds are hardly available in every places. Even though most of the places have enough lodges sometimes it can be problamatic to find accommodation in Annapurna Base Camp due to limit number of lodges and limited number of rooms. We would look for your cooperation in case accommodation problem is occurred. Nothing luxurious is available in Annapurna Base Camp Trek. Lodges are in same standard and provide similar standards. Rooms are prepared only to spend a night. The rooms are comparatively small and there won't be bathroom available inside the room. You need to use common bathroom used by all other trekkers. We will accommodate two trekkers inside a room unless you are single trekker. If you are a single trekker then sometimes you may need to share your room with someone else in rare, let's say very rare cases ( same sex or very rare cases with opposite sex). Even if you are traveling in a group and prefer single room then upon paying single supplement charges we will try our best to provide you single rooms. If we are unable to provide single rooms then we will refund your single supplement charges. Best Season Annapurna Base Camp Trekking is a moderate altitude trekking (about 4,100 meters +) route. This trekking is best in Spring (March, April, May) and Autumn (October, November, December). You will have crystal clear views, Himalayan peaks, green forests, dry trail and lively environment. January and February is cold but trekking to Annapurna Base Camp is still doable. Annapurna Base Camp Trek is amazing during March - April as rhododendron forests will be blossoming at this time of the year. Monsoon trekking is doable but only if you do not mind having few showers everyday. The trail will be wet and muddy. There will be risks of avalanche from Himalayan Hotel or Machhapuchhre Base camp and alternative trail would be available.
