Dissolved gasses. . -The most abundant dissolved gasses in an aquatic system are nitrogen, oxygen and carbon dioxide.-Nitrogen: Upper layers are normally saturated with nitrogen gas but this form cannot be used directly by most organisms. -Oxygen: It does not dissolved easily in water and the primary sources of dissolved oxygen in the Bay are photosynthetic organisms. -Carbon Dioxide: CO2 is very soluble in water and moves quickly from the atmosphere to the water. .
