Portsmouth Swimming Awards …………………………… Has achieved a Bronze Award ……………… ……… Examiner Date ……………… Katy Sexton World Champion • Bronze Award • The swimmer can successfully complete the following six activities: • Jump into water not less than 0.9m deep • Put whole face in water and blow bubbles for 5 seconds • Put whole face in water and blow 6 consecutive times • Kick 10m on front with floatation aids • Kick 10m on back with floatation aids • Swim 5m on front or back The swimmer can successfully complete 2 out of the following 4 activities: • Show a swivel entry • Push and glide for 5m on front AND back • Regain standing position from front and back • Hold a motionless float for 5 seconds with or without floatation aids

Portsmouth Swimming Awards …………………………… Has achieved a Silver Award ……………… ……… Examiner Date ……………… Katy Sexton World Champion • Silver Award • The swimmer can successfully complete the following eight activities: • Jump into water not less than 1.2m deep • Push and hold glide on front AND back for a minimum of 5 seconds and regain standing position • Push and hold glide on front AND back for a minimum of 5 seconds, continue across the width kicking and regain standing position • Kick 20m on front with floatation aids • Kick 20m on back with floatation aids • Kick 10m showing a basic Breaststroke leg action, with or without floatation aids • Swim 10m on front and back with arm movement • The swimmer can successfully complete 2 out of the following 4 activities: • Pick an object up from the bottom of the pool in a minimum depth of 0.9m. Use two hands. • Hold a mushroom float for 5 seconds • Tread water for a minimum of 10 seconds • Scull standing or swimming, showing a ‘figure of 8’ movement six consecutive times

Portsmouth Swimming Awards …………………………… Has achieved a Gold Award ……………… ……… Examiner Date ……………… Katy Sexton World Champion • Gold Award • The swimmer can successfully complete the following eight activities: • Jump into water of at least own height and not less than 1.5m deep • Push and hold glide on front for a minimum of 5 seconds and show a forward roll (somersault) • Show a head first surface dive • Scull head first on back for 5m without kicking, then without touching the bottom swim back to the wall on front. • Kick 25m using front crawl legs with a float • Kick 25m on back with arms by side • Kick 25m showing a basic Breaststroke leg action, with a float • Swim a minimum of 25m any style • The swimmer may also be able to demonstrate the following: • Swim a minimum of 25m front crawl with reasonable technique • Swim a minimum of 25m backstroke with reasonable technique • Swim a minimum of 25m breaststroke • Tread water for a minimum of 30 seconds, with ears above the water
