    2. Left Side Must be done in pen Ruler not necessary Graph paper not necessary Spelling doesnt count Should be organized Is not graded

    3. Right Side Must be done in pen Must be in order Spelling and neatness count Graph paper required for all graphs Complete sentences No white out Diagrams at least 1/3 of page in size Procedure reports what was done ( 3rd person past tense) Leave at least 1 line between sections Answer conclusion questions completely Refer to your data and observations as well as any graphs when answering conclusion. Do not split data tables or graphs between pages. When you get to the bottom of the page, go on to the next RIGHT SIDE page. Present calculations as instructed. Lab should appear in order ( See page1) This side is graded.

    4. Spacing and Organization Title lab on center of top line Your name and lab partners name in right hand corner. Date under your name Leave margins on left and right side. Skip line between sections. Name Date Title Purpose : Materials: Safety: Procedure: Data: Observations: Calculations: Graphs: Error Analysis: Conclusions: page #

    5. Graphs Use a ruler Use graph paper Label axes Use proper scaling Data points small and clear Appropriate trends Title Your name Partners name

    6. Data Tables Drawn with ruler Headers are labeled Units are included after measurements or in the headers. No marks used for repeated values Do not split tables between pages.

    7. Procedure - Reporting in third person past tense Incorrect 1st person past I mixed the solution 2nd person past You mixed the solution 2nd person understood Mix the solution 1st person plural past We mixed the solution Correct 3rd person past - the solution was mixed

    8. Error Analysis = problems inherent in the equipment or technique Mistakes - I spilled some - I may have measured wrong. - I may have graphed incorrectly. - I didnt adjust the . These are things you could have and should have fixed by retaking the data or redoing the experiment. Errors - The ruler measured to the .01 place and I needed the .0001 place. - The graduated cylinders needed to be .1 mL increments instead of 10 mL increments.

    9. Sample Calculations One sample of each type of calculation done. Always use 4-step method Include all variables Include all = signs Include all units

    10. Conclusions Always write the question then answer or make the question part of your answer. Write using complete sentences. Always try to reapply concepts. Refer to your data or graphs in order to support your answers. Always answer the questions completely and thoroughly. Do not give opinions unless they are specifically asked for.
