  1. READI Reading Aid and Intervention Course for Reading Facilitators Workshop for Parents and Volunteers READI READI A special project by Society for Reading and Literacy to help struggling readers in our community READiis a community outreach initiative by The Society for Reading and Literacy (SRL) that reaches out to children having reading difficulties from low income families. The Society for Reading and Literacy is a non-profit society incorporated in the Republic of Singapore. READi Course for Reading Facilitators provides training for teachers, tutors, parents, volunteers, social workers and anyone involved with helping children with reading difficulties and are engaged in reading instruction and intervention. READi Workshop for Parents and Volunteers provides practical strategies and techniques for helping struggling and delayed readers. READi Reading Intervention Programme for Primary Schools Trained READi facilitators provide one-to-one informal assessment and para-intervention in primary schools. Working hand in hand with classroom teachers and the Learning Support team, READi facilitators help to reduce reading failure and provide emotional support for students . In focus are students from primary three to six. Find out how this programme can help your school readi@srl.org.sg Facilitators from the first two intakes of the READi Course for Reading Facilitators have found the course content useful and effective for intervention. According to early childhood educator Miss Julie Ho who attended the first intake, “After completing the READi Course, I was very happy to be given the opportunity to use what I had learnt to support the children [I teach] who needed extra help in their reading development. My involvement has not only helped a child gain confidence and self esteem as her reading improved over a short span of 6 months, I have also gained personal and professional gratification from seeing her grow as a reader. I would like to strongly encourage all those who are trained to participate in the reading intervention programme in schools, as this programme has positive effects not only on the children’s reading, but the facilitators’ learning as well. From my experience, this programme has helped me gain insight into the process of literacy learning, and enable me to learn and grow as mentor in reading. I am sure all those who join will reap the same benefits as I do.” Enrol for this course readi@srl.org.sg Our Trainers Noel Chia The only board-certified educational therapist outside the United States registered with the Association of Educational Therapists based in Burbank, California, USA.
