  1. Quick Steps to Install the Brother Printer driver in Ubuntu Brother printer is one of the most popular brands in printers with high quality and affordable products that meet diverse user requirements. If you want to install Brother printer driver in Ubuntu, it can be done by calling Brother printer customer care phone number. The other way out is to follow a series of steps which are listed as follows: Start by connecting the printer to the computer using a USB cable and then turning it on. You need to use the USB cable initially even if you want to use it as network printer later. Sometimes you can add a printer to the system on your own with the help of application printers, which already have the driver. In such case, you will have to indicate the printer. Use the search box in the menu for launching application printers. Ubuntu and Linux Mint have this by default. For the printer, click on add (+) button and proceed with the steps offered. If Ubuntu or Linux Mint fails to support your printer version, proceed to the next step. Here is how to carry it out: a.Reach out to the Brother website’s download section and look for the printer model you are using. Choose Linus for OS Family and Linux (deb) for OS Version. Then click on Search button. Then download linux-brprinter-installer by clicking the Driver Install Tool. Save this file in the Downloads folder (do not extract zip file). b.The next step would be launching a terminal window. For Ubuntu, click on its grey logo, Query: terminal and then click on terminal.

  2. c.For unzipping the downloaded file, copy and paste the following command in the terminal Cd downloads && gunzip -v ~/downloads/linux-brprinter*. Then press enter. d.Again transfer the below mentioned line into the terminal using copy paste: sudo bash ~/downloads/linux-brprinter* Then press Enter, followed by typing your password on prompt; whatever you type will be invisible, and even asterisks will not show. e.Follow the steps presented by the installer script. When asked, type the printer model name and press Enter. For instance, type DCP-7065DN for a Brother DCP-7065DN. You will be asked about the device URL and you have to reply Y for network printer and N for USB printer. In case of network printer, select the last option in the next question. (A):Auto. For this, you have to type the option number and then press enter. f.Next you must add yourself to user group. This can be done using a click-click-click graphical system tool which varies from edition to edition. If you are unable to complete the task with these steps, it is better to avail professional guidance by calling Brother online support. This number gets you instant support and troubleshooting to resolve all the issues related to Brother Printers.
