  3. Page 2 The Tasks Task #1: You are a DJ that must create 1 hour worth of music for a Math Dance. You will keep a running time of your songs. Task #2: You will find the measures of central tendencies of your data. In simple terms, the mean, median, mode, and range of your data. Task #3 You will present your findings through an oral presentation to the class. Explaining the math correlations. Brief biography of Artists. (hardcopy printout) *Your task is to create 1 hour of music for the Math Dance. *On the spreadsheet provided on the next page, list the song titles, artists, year recorded, genres, and time of each song. *Each song must have a correlation to mathematics, either in the title or the artist. (Check out myexamples) *No song may be over 7 minutes long. *You may not use more than 2 songs from each artist. * You must keep a running time of the songs.   13. EVALUATION You will be evaluated on the 3 tasks. Task #1 DJ itinerary worksheet: 1 Hour of music with correct run time Title/Artists have a correlation to Mathematics Years Genre Total completion 30 points Task #2 Measures of Central Tendencies worksheet. Total completion 50 points Task #3 Oral presentation 20 points CONCLUSION I feel that music is the universal language. I hope that this was a fun and educational experience. If you get a chance to come to Lopatcong Middle School on March 14th(Pi day) you will hear a rock’n live version of the Pi Song!
