  1. December 18, 2017 3 Healthy Lifestyle Tips to Get the Most from Your Natural Skin Care Routine Aging skin is part of life –but that doesn’t mean you can’t help skin look its youthful best along the way. The market abounds with options claiming anti-aging results, but natural skin care products not only contain fewer harsh chemicals, but they have also come a long way in effectiveness over their more lab-created counterparts. Help them go even further by incorporating these simple daily practices into your healthy lifestyle. Page | 1

  2. Indulge in Antioxidants By now, it is no secret that our exposure to pollutants and environmental aggressors has played a part in the formation and accumulation of free radicals within our bodies. Unfortunately, these free radicals wreak havoc in our bodies, including our skin, as one of the main causes of premature aging. To stave off this process, increase food and beverages rich in antioxidants as a part of your overall diet. As their name suggests, they fight the aging oxidative effects of free radicals by neutralizing or combatting them. Great – and delicious – examples of these food products include blueberries, dark chocolate, artichokes, and green tea. “Beauty Sleep” Sleep is the time when our bodies recuperate and regenerate most efficiently and effectively. When we don’t get enough hours of rest, our bodies are forced to operate beyond optimum capacity, “borrowing” energy from different body processes at various times and in essence short changing all of them by not having the opportunity to replenish. If sleep is elusive, or if you find yourself staying up too late to “get things done,” try scheduling sleep into your evenings. Set a timer or alarm a good 90 minutes before bed to allow your mind to slow down and body to ready itself for slumber. And of course shoot for 7-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep a night. Get Enough Exercise Exercise isn’t just a way to shed off a few inches from your waist. Regular exercise is known to help stimulate endorphin production in the body, which in turn reduces stress and stress- related skin conditions like acne, as well as increasing stimulation and oxygenation in the skin. This leads to what people refer to as a “healthy glow” after a workout. Additionally, exercise allows your body to maintain its current muscle mass and increases perspiration. This is advantageous because loss of muscle mass is a key contributor to sagging skin – aging skin shows on our bodies as well as our faces – and because sweating is one of the ways our bodies naturally expels aging-promoting toxins.
