  2. My Country My country is the land of love. It fills with good and bad memorizes of my childhood. It is my best friend, the past of all my memories, and is with me in my heart and there for me through the bad and good things. My country, even though its far away, I will remember the times I’ve spent there, and I will always look forward to visit my home.

  3. The General ThingsAbout Việt Nam • Việt Nam is shaped like an S. It is about 1,000 miles from top to the bottom. Vietnam’s population (right now) is about 84 million. The capital of Vietnam is Hà Nội. The traditional food is rice.

  4. About Vietnam’s Capital Hà Nội is Vietnam’s capital. It is the second largest city in Vietnam with a population of 5 million, compared to its largest city Saigon, with a population of 8 million.

  6. Saigon Saigon is the largest city in Vietnam, with about 8 million people. (In 1997, about 5,250,000 people lived there) Saigon is near the Mekong Delta.

  8. Huế • Hue has about 6 million people. This bridge (the background) is called the Cau Truong Tien. Hue has a lot of pretty landscapes.

  10. Vietnamese Holidays There are a lot of Vietnamese holidays, two are Tet, and Tet Trung Thu. Preparation for Tet starts weeks before New Year's Day. Homes are cleaned to get rid of bad fortune associated with the old year. Families paint their homes to give it a new look. Everyone gets new clothes and new shoes. Pay your debts and resolve differences between family and friends. Tet Trung Thu is called the Mid-Autumn Festival. Tet Trung Thu is a harvest festival much like other harvest festivals celebrated throughout Asia.
