  2. What Causes Heel Pain? • Plantar Fasciitis • The primary cause of heel pain! • Inflammation and pain along the tissue band that supports the arch on the bottom of the foot, called the plantar fascia • Usually felt on the bottom of the heel, where the plantar fascia attaches to the heel bone

  4. Plantar Fasciitis • Chronic in 5-10 percent of all patients • Not necessarily associated with a heel spur • Over 90 percent of cases resolved with conservative treatments
