  1. Home Care Services – Are They Worth Getting? A good majority of seniors would like nothing more than to live out the rest of their lives in their own homes because it is the one place where they are the most comfortable in. Another reason why they do not want to live anywhere else other than their humble abode is because they want to maintain their sense of independence. Can you imagine how hard it must be for seniors if they were told that they need to be transferred to a retirement home or assisted living facility? This will be enough to drive them to tears. People who do not want put their aging loved ones through this ordeal can opt to go with home care services instead. Even though almost all seniors still wish to have some degree of independence even as they age, there are a few activities of daily living that they will need to be given some assistance with. Things such as driving their cars, changing their clothes, taking a bath, and even walking up and down the stairs can become increasingly difficult for seniors as they grow older. Hiring an in-home care service helps provide seniors with companionship, non-medical care, and health care. They can keep their independence and their homes, and they do not even have to leave in order to receive care since the caregivers will be the ones who will come to their homes. One particular survey shows that approximately 90 percent of seniors prefer to live at home rather than move to an assisted living facility. Just like the old adage goes, “home is where the heart is”, so you definitely cannot fault these seniors who refuse to live anywhere else other than home. It is the one place where they are the most secure and comfortable in. Moving to a retirement centre or assisted living facility means having to adjust to a new environment and people. This can be tough for seniors because they do not want to go through something like this since it can be quite stressful for them. You can know more about this topic at http://comforcare.com/.
