In the morning you study on our highly popular Summer General English course which is designed for adults of all nationalities and abilities, this lively and imaginative programme focuses on speaking, listening, reading and writing to help you communicate con?dently and ?uently in everyday English. Lessons are interactive and structured to allow maximum time to learn and practise new vocabulary, colloquial English, idioms and grammar. The main emphasis is on developing your con?dence and ?uency to communicate outside the classroom. On Monday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons you have additional English lessons. You will get to practice your English with like-minded classmates based on active student participation. We co-operate with another British Council accredited school, the ELC, for adult courses during the summers to ensure a good mix of ages and nationalities.

  2. Our maximum class size is just 12 students, which means you will receive personal attention from your teacher at all times. At the end of the course you will receive an attractive certi?cate showing your level of achievement. Hang it on the wall. Show your family and friends. You’ve earned it! The course is suitable for students with all levels of English. All students have a test and an interview on their ?rst day to establish their level of English. Alternatively look at the Council of Europe Language Level Scale to see what level you are. Please note you will be required to buy course books for your English studies. LEARNING HOURS  You can expect to spend a minimum of 25 lessons of 45 minutes each for your English studies. Students can study on the course for as many weeks as they wish. Normally both the morning lessons and afternoon sessions are held at Loxdale English Centre. Occasionally they may be held at The English Language Centre in Hove which is only 15 minutes by bus.
