  1. A Brief Guide on IP Box Cameras IP or Internet Protocol cameras are the future of video surveillance. These are webcams that transmit digital video data over the internet or a local network. Internet Protocol cameras are network devices with assigned networked addresses that users can visit and access. These cameras create digital, high-definition video and stream the footage back to a web browser, network video recorder (NVR), or a smart phone. This enables remote monitoring of security systems. Different types of IP cameras are designed for specific purposes. For instance, dome cameras are ideal for outdoor use, while IP cameras with IR (infrared) light are specially equipped for nighttime surveillance. Other IP cameras are designed to provide more viewing angles, such as PTZ IP cameras. Shopping for the right type of IP camera units will help you create the most efficient network security system for your home or place of business. Below are the latest types of IP Box cameras you can consider for your own surveillance setup: • Centralized and Decentralized IP Cameras– Centralized IP cameras serve as the eyes of a security system. They feed footage to a central video recorder, which then handles video recording and storage. The advantage to this kind of setup is being able to keep security footage safe in one place in case the cameras get damaged or stolen. Decentralized IP cameras are the exact opposite of the first, allowing for standalone recording. The advantage to having decentralized storage is reducing the chance of losing your security footage all at once. • Wired and wireless IP Cameras– Wired IP cameras can be linked to the internet or local computer networks with the help of ethernet cables. This ensures maximized use of network bandwidth and a steady connection. Wireless IP cameras on the other hand, connects to your network via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. This wireless freedom allows for easier installation and wider area surveillance, although it does lose some reliability when it comes to connection stability. • Fixed and PTZ IP Cameras–Fixed IP cameras are designed to remain in stationary, fixed positions. IP box cameras fall under this category and while they are fixed, these units may be equipped with various types of lenses to enhance their function. PTZ IP Cameras or dome cameras, on the other hand, have the ability to pan, zoom, and tilt with the help of automatic or manual controls. This range of motion allows a single camera to survey areas from various directions and multiple angles, making dome cameras ideal for tracking objects of interest.
