MSTCinvitesExpressionofInterest(EOI)frominterestedpartiesforSupplyofrawmate-rialsinbulkonaregularbasisandJointventure • TheplantwillprocessesEndofLifeVehicles(ELVs)andotherWhiteGoodsforscrappro-ductioninaneco-friendlymanner Motivebehindsettinguptheplant: • InIndiaConstructionandautomobilesectorattractsthemajorsteelrequirement • Theoutputoftheplantwillbeconsideredastherawmaterialforsecondarysteelproduction • Butthecountrylacksorganisedauto-gradescrapshred-dingtechnologiesforprocessingofmetalscrapwhichre-sultsinpooryieldascomparedtointernationalstandards.• ProposedcapacityofthemainShreddingPlantisexpectedtobe40tonsperhour(TPH) • InIndiasecondarysteelproducersmakeuseofshreddedscrapforproductionofsteelbytheElectricArcFurnacemethodortheInductionFurnacemethod.Uptillnow•Scrapgoodswhichcontainsteelcanberecycledthroughthesemethods.
