You too can ensure safety of the turtles by getting involved: • 1. Rescue Turtle activity - Rescue Turtlesand thereby help them from being in danger. www.worldturtleday.org

  3. 2. Protect Turtles and Tortoises – Turtles and tortoises need protection in order to save them from various kinds of threats.One thing that helps much in this regard is don’t eat them! • 3. Don’t buy them from pet shops – Never buy turtle or tortoise from pet shops. Ifthe demand decreases then automatically the sales will decrease (& thereby these animals survive in their natural habitat). www.worldturtleday.org

  4. 4. Report illegal sales – It is illegal to sell tortoises or turtles that have not grown to four inch or more (in size). If any such sales happen, then report it immediately! • 5. Give emergency care – You might suddenly find a tortoise crossing a street that is crowded – where chances are there for the animal to get hurt – then pick it up & place it in a safe area. But place it in the same direction in which it was moving; or else it will turn around and continue its journey. www.worldturtleday.org

  5. 6. Report cruelty – Feeling that you cannot stop the cruelty by yourself but require support? Then report the cruelty to gather adequate help. • 7. Never remove them from wild for having pets – Like how we love our home, animals too love theirs. So let them live happily in their natural environment. www.worldturtleday.org
