  1. Do More to Help the Turtles on World Turtle Day® May 23, 2019 https://www.worldturtleday.org/

  2. Turtles and tortoises are undoubtedly the most endangered species that are facing threats of extinction. Even though they have survived the test of time for ages, they are currently unsafe in their own habitats and find it a great challenge to co-exist with other active creatures. https://www.worldturtleday.org/

  3.    Hatchlings are newly hatched turtles. Today, a lot of these turtle hatchlings are victims of smuggling. American Tortoise Rescue took in 24 of them last year rescued on their way to China. Buying turtles can contribute to smuggling. https://www.worldturtleday.org/

  4. Attacks from dogs, egrets, raccoons and other predators can cause injury and even death. Protect your turtles with solar electric fencing, an over the pond chain link cage, fences that they cannot see through or dig under, and motion detecting lights. https://www.worldturtleday.org/

  5. Keep your turtles safe at home and those in the wild by not leaving garbage, food waste, nut shells, cigarette butts and other harmful substances behind. Use a trash can or take picnic waste home with you. https://www.worldturtleday.org/

  6. Participate in events and forums that discuss how to help turtles. Join up with rescues to donate money or supplies, as well as volunteer. See more here http://www.tortoise.com/turtle-rescue-centers-in-usa.html https://www.worldturtleday.org/

  7.   Spread the word to widen the source of help to rescues. It’s time to act and make a difference to help our amazing turtles. Visit www.YouTube.com/AmericanTortRescue and sign up at https://www.facebook.com/WorldTurtleDay/ ·       https://www.worldturtleday.org/
