Ritz Carlton Development • 2 phase development along the golf course • Phase 1: Deck Houses; Phase 2: Secret Harbour (120 condos) • Future phases include a yacht marina with more condos, restaurants, bars and shops. • Another 230 acres acquired – initial plans indicate 9 hole golf course added to the Ritz’s current 9 holes course.

  16. Berthing Facilities • CIG officially committed to the strategic decision of separating the cargo and cruise operations. • Cargo dock to be moved to another area of George Town to facilitate the construction of the cruise ship berthing dock at the current cargo dock.

Berthing Facilities cont. • Negotiations are ongoing with Atlantic Star Ltd. and as a result a more strategic approach is being pursued. • This includes: • Reaching an agreement to satisfy local requirements for a thorough environmental impact assessment. • Agreeing to maintain berthing facilities within the immediate GT harbour area. • Increasing the space allotted for managing cruise passengers and thereby improving the visitor experience and • Agreeing to build the facility sufficiently strong to withstand major storms

Nickelodeon Family Cruise • Nickelodeon and Royal Caribbean International have introduced a seven-day family cruise and has scheduled its inaugural trip for August 2008. • Impressed with what the Cayman Islands had to offer they have included Grand Cayman on their itinerary. • Only one trip is currently scheduled while the company assess the interest shown. • The “Nickelodeon family Cruise with Royal Caribbean” will feature Nickelodeon activities and entertainment such as live game shows featuring the Nickelodeon slime, visits with kids' favorite characters like Dora the Explorer and SpongeBob SquarePants.

Cayman Airways Update CAL launches Brand Enhancement Campaign • Monday, November 5th 2007 introduced a newly enhanced livery of one of its 737-300 aircraft. • Over the next year other aircraft will get new identity • Other aspects of the brand enhancement campaign, such as uniforms, stationary, business cards, ticket counters, web-site, advertisements, vehicles and signage will be gradually updated according to replenishment needs.

Owen Roberts Int’l Airport Expansion • Preparatory phase underway • Facility being modernised to improve aesthetic appeal and to expand passenger and airline capacity. • Completion of these expansions for commercial airlines will also facilitate a move towards establishing facilities for charter jets. • Following preparatory phase the project will be conducted in 3 phases. • Phase 1: expansion of the ticketing hall; construction of a domestic terminal; and a new arrivals and departure hall behind the existing ticketing hall. • Phase 2 (early 2009): construction of the new departure hall on the 2nd level and the installation of 4 jet bridges • Phase 3 (completion 2010): modification to areas of the existing building such as the airlines offices.

The National Gallery - New Facility • To date over 1.9 million dollars (financial goal is $2.5 million) raised • Building slated for construction in early 2008 • Site just off the Esterley Tibbetts Highway near the Harquail Theatre. • Hoped that the building will be ready for occupancy by fall 2009 (September).

The National Gallery - New Facility cont. • The larger facility will enable the gallery to host wider and more diverse types of functions and exhibitions. • The new gallery will as host a permanent display area for Caymanian Art. • Will also allow for the educational centre and classrooms to be housed on the same premises.   24. Cayman Islands National Museum • Soft opening – November (building will be opened for guided tours of the structure). • Jan 2009 the full opening with all exhibits in place

The Santa Clara • 115-foot replica of a 15th century Columbus sailing ship - Also known as the Nina II • Now available for day sailing trips, sunset cruises and private charters in the calm waters of the North Sound. • Seating for 100 people • Down below, the authentic 15th century exterior hides an 800 square foot air-conditioned main salon and galley, which is finished in wood, granite and marble from Brazil, and boasts modern male and female restrooms. • In the salon, guests can relax, have a drink and a snack, shop for souvenirs or, on two flat screen TVs, watch a video of the ship being built in the Brazilian jungle. • Contact: www.thenina.com or (345) 926-5000.

Government Admin Building • Construction underway at the Elgin Avenue site adjacent to the current Government Admin building. • The $85.5 million structure • 230,000 square ft • Capable of withstanding Category Five hurricanes, earthquake force and floods up to 12 ft. • Designed to hold offices for 900 civil servants • To be completed within 34 months • Set to be the largest building in Cayman and a leading example for the region in energy efficiency, environmental performance and staff comfort.

Seven Fathoms • 1st commercially made distilled rum made entirely in the CI • After the distilling process, the rum is put into oak barrels and taken out to the ocean, where it is dropped to a depth of 42 feet • Will be distilled in small batches and sold only in Cayman • The rum will be available in liquor stores after the official launch at the end of May.

TAB Update The new monthly Director's Tour at the QE II Botanic Park. • Two-hour excursion personally led by the Park’s General Manager, Mr. Andrew Guthrie • Offering expert insights on what’s growing, blooming, and fruiting along the way. • Price: US$20 • Hours: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the second Tuesday of each month. • Exceptions: May (Kew International Botanic Competition conflict).

National Trust Update • New rack cards for the Mission House and Mastic Trail Guided Tours in circulation • Visitor Centre rack cards in design • New street signage for Mission House and Southern Mastic Trailhead. • Signage for Northern Mastic Trailhead, George Town Visitor Centre, Governor Gore’s Bird Sanctuary will be arriving and placed shortly. • Signage will soon be in place for improvements to the Blue Iguana tour offered at the Botanic Park. Tours will be increased from twice weekly to twice daily • “Uncle Sammy’s Pond” in West Bay has been purchased and will be developed with parking and a boardwalk for public enjoyment. • The park adjacent to the Mission House is now open and includes a bird watching platform and children’s playground equipment.
