  2. Atiq Ahmed is a controversial figure in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. He is a former Member of Parliament and a known criminal who has been accused of multiple cases of murder, kidnapping, and extortion. Ahmed was born on August 1, 1962, in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. He started his career as a wrestler and later ventured into politics. In 1993, he was elected as an MLA from Allahabad West constituency on a Samajwadi Party ticket. He later joined the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and was elected as an MP from Phulpur constituency in 2004. However, his political career was marred by controversies and criminal cases. He has been accused of multiple cases of murder, kidnapping, and extortion. In 2005, he was expelled from the BSP for his criminal activities. In 2007, he contested the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections as an independent candidate from Allahabad West constituency and won. Ahmed has been in and out of jail on several occasions. In 2012, he was arrested in connection with the murder of a businessman in Allahabad. In 2019, he was arrested in connection with the assault of a businessman in Lucknow. Ahmed's criminal activities have earned him notoriety in Uttar Pradesh. He has been accused of using his political power to commit crimes and intimidate people. His criminal activities have also impacted his political career. He has been expelled from multiple political parties and has not been able to contest elections since 2012 due to his criminal record.
