  2. WELCOME to…. Cougar Central Cougar Central is home to Enrollment Management Services and Student Financial Services. Cougar Central provides an array of quality student services consisting of the following offices: • Admissions & Recruitment (includes University Outreach Programs) • Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management Services • Financial Aid & Scholarships • Registration & Records • Student Financial Services (Cashiers, Financial Aid Disbursement Office and Student Accounts Receivable) Cougar Central is located off of the Tukwut Courtyard in Craven Hall 3900. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

  3. FEE NOTICE The CSU makes every effort to keep student costs to a minimum. Fees listed in published schedules or student accounts may need to be increased when public funding is inadequate. Therefore, CSU must reserve the right, even after initial fee payments are made, to increase or modify any listed fees, without notice, until the date when instruction for a particular semester or quarter has begun. All CSU listed fees should be regarded as estimates that are subject to change upon approval by the Board of Trustees.

The Cost – $Registration Fees for Fall 2010 Part TimeFull Time (6.0 units or less) (6.1 or more) Undergraduate $1,574.00 $2,420.00 Credential $1,763.00 $2,744.00 Graduate $1,847.00 $2,888.00 Non-Resident Tuition $372.00 per unit must be paid in addition to the mandatory fees above. Extended Learning Special Session Credit Classes (classes with “EX” at end of class name) are additional fees to above listed fees. NEW: Graduate Professional Business Fees: $210 per unit in addition to mandatory fees and non-resident fees (if applicable)

  5. Fall 2010 Payment Deadlines If registered before July 8, payment deadline is July 8th prior to 12:00 noon. If registered between July 8thand August 4th, payment deadline is August 5th prior to 12:00 noon. If registered after August 4th, payment deadline is next business day prior to 12:00 noon.

  6. Types of Payments In Person • Cash • Checks • Payable to CSU San Marcos. • Include your student ID on the memo line. • ATM • Debit • Money Order On Line Payments • Logon to your Student Center via mycsusm.edu(a 2.9% convenience fee added to amount paid) • No VISA accepted.

Places to Make Payments • Where can I make a payment? • At Cougar Central • On-line • Via U.S. Postal Services • CSU San Marcos University Cashiers 333 South Twin Oaks Valley Road San Marcos, CA 92096-0001 • Use the silver 24-hour Drop Box on northwest wall of Tukwut Courtyard • Set up an installment plan at http://www.tuitionpay.com/csusm

  9. SallieMae Tuition Payment Plan • Installment Payment Plan • Contract with SallieMae Tuition Pay. Plan is set up for one term. • To use this Installment Plan, you must be signed up with SallieMae by 5:00 p.m. the day before payment deadline and have a fee deferment on your account. • Non-refundable cost to enroll in the plan: $25.00 per term • Depending on your payment method to SallieMae, additional fees may apply. • Contact SallieMaeTuition Pay on line at: http://www.tuitionpay.com/csusm or 1.800.635.0120

If Financial Aid offer has been accepted - Go to mycsusm.edu Student Center to confirm Financial Aid You will not be dropped from your classes on the payment deadline if you have a deferment on your account If you do not have not enough financial aid to cover all fees, you are responsible for paying the difference by the deadline. Remainder of Financial Aid after fees are paid will be refunded via check or direct deposit. Checks are mailed to the student address on file. Financial Aid Recipients

  11. Fee Deferments • Keeps you from having all of your classes dropped (due to non-payment) on a payment deadline. • There are many types of Fee Deferments but the most common are Financial Aid, Third Party, Cal Vet, and SallieMae Tuition Payment Plan.

  12. What Happens if Payment is Late? • Student Accounts must be paid in full by the payment deadline (unless you have a fee deferment.) • You will be DROPPED from ALL of your classes (even if a partial payment has been made.) • Solution - Don’t be late!

  13. Add/Drop Period • Fall and Spring Terms • First 2 weeks of each term • Summer Term • First week of the term

  14. Full Time to Part Time • You are eligible for a refund of the difference between Full-Time fees and Part-Time fees if you drop from Full-Time to Part-Time during the add/drop period. • If you drop from Full-Time to Part-Time after the add/drop period you are not eligible for a refund.

  15. Direct Deposit • Is the best and FASTEST way to receive your Financial Aid refund. • You must be signed up for this in order to receive your refund via this mode. • Once we receive your application, it takes 10 working days to process. • Forms can be found on-line at www.csusm.edu/sfs - under Important Documents.

  16. FERPA Release Form • Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). • Allows students to give SFS staff permission to speak with their designees about their financial account. • Form must be renewed annually. • Form must be signed at the Cashier’s Office and student must present photo identification.
