  4. Reach your location before dark The first thing to consider is to reach your location before dark. That way you will have time to get accustomed to the location you will be shooting at. This will also help you in scouting for the best composition for your image. You are going to spend quite a few hours at this location during the night time so make sure you are well informed about your surroundings.  http://thephotographersblog.com/

  5. Send your location map to your team Inform someone that you are going to stay there during the night. Not only you should inform your friends and family about your location, you should also inform the nearest local people around. Again, you will be able to do this, if you reach before dark.
