Project Commencement Project Commencement According to officials, after Manish Kumar Verma, the district magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar, officially inaugurated this significant project, construction work on a 31-km link road stretch connecting Jewar Airport with the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway began on May 25. The project will allow for seamless connectivity from Jewar Airport to Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport and Haryana areas via the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. The Gautam Budh Nagar administration has acquired 66.73 hectares of land for the link road project. For the purchase of the 66.73 hectares of land needed for this project, the administration paid farmers compensation totaling ₹260 crore. The DM mentioned, “We have handed over the necessary land for the project to ensure its timely completion and our aim is to provide multimodal connectivity from Jewar to nearby important locations.” Construction Work Construction Work Land in a number of villages, including Dayanatpur, Karauli Bangar, Ball Nagar, and Amarpur, has been transferred by the administration. In the village of Dayanatpur, where land is being acquired for the airport project, construction work has started. The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will intersect with the

  2. Yamuna Expressway (YEIDA) at km 30, and officials have announced that the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) will build an interchange there for it. The government will provide 19 hectares of land for the interchange project, and the NHAI will allocate 150 crore for its construction. According to officials, a 700-meter-long elevated road will be constructed from the Yamuna Expressway to the airport site in order to directly connect the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway with Jewar airport. The airport boundary wall interchange will require 4.42 acres of land and a budget of Rs 25 crore. An official from the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority mentioned, “With the additional 31 km link road, commuters that travel from Jewar to Delhi’s IGI or Haryana cities will save a considerable amount of time. It will also shorten travel time to other regional destinations. For instance, commuters traveling to Jaipur or Haryana could conveniently use the Yamuna Expressway.” Planning Phases Planning Phases The 31-kilometer link road will connect Jewar airport to Ballabgarh in Haryana, where the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway passes. The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, directed the NHAI in 2019 to investigate options for connecting Jewar to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway at Ballabhgarh. According to NHAI officials, the goal was to create an additional link between the new airport and the rest of the Delhi-NCR region. According to NHAI, the Jewar-Ballabgarh link road will be completed within a year of work beginning on the site, and the airport will be operational by September 2024. According to YEIDA officials, this link is critical because passengers traveling from IGI in Delhi or Jewar will no longer have to rely solely on the Yamuna Expressway and the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway.
