Marshall, Esq. is Currently Working as the Chief Municipal Public Defender at City Newark in Municipal Public Defender’s Office • Right from litigating criminal indictable cases including drug offenses, theft, sexual assault, armed robberies, and possession of deadly weapons, Rachel Y. Marshall, Esq. made her journey to oversee the administration of public legal services for the City of Newark’s municipal courts. • She assigns cases and distribution of workload. • Adding more to her responsibilities, Rachel reviews and adopts policies and procedures that are consistent with the Administrative Office of the Courts and State of New Jersey Public Defender’s office. • In addition, she revises and institutes new office policies post-Covid 19 and formulates new office operations that are internet and virtual court based.

She Works as an Adjunct Professor Criminal Law at Union County College • As the Adjunct Professor Criminal Law, Rachel ensures the success of students by providing the effective education. • In addition, she is well aware of Canvas and Cengage online services that she makes use of in order to manage student’s attendance, grading, and assignments.

  4. Her Role as Former Solo Practitioner • As the former solo practitioner, Rachel Y. Marshall, Esq. worked at The Marshall Law Practice LLC in Newark. • She maintained a landlord-tenant practice through the State of New Jersey. • Besides, Rachel represented landlords and housing non-profits in tenant eviction matters. • She also managed all the phases of litigation including depositions, document production, interrogatories, motions, legal trial presentations, and settlement negotiations.
