  1. Rachel Y. Marshall, Esq. Holds an Expertise of More Than Twenty Years in Litigation As an established attorney, Rachel Y. Marshall, Esq. holds an expertise of more than twenty years in criminal and civil litigation. Currently working as Chief Municipal Public Defender, she resolves the scheduling issues and conflict assignments. Rachel supervises the administration of public legal service for the City of Newark’s municipal courts. She also provides the legal services to the individuals charged with criminal, traffic, housing, and DUI cases. In addition, Rachel revises and institutes new office policies post COVID-19 and formulate new office operations that are internet and virtual court based. Being the former solo practitioner, Rachel considers the fact that the solo practitioners maintain the full control of profits of their business. They work for themselves and have a strong sense of business as well. They have a control over destiny of their legal services and decide which client cases they want to take on and which ones they do not. She served as the solo practitioner at The Marshall Law Practice LLC in Newark where she maintained a landlord-tenant practice through the State of New Jersey. She represented landlords and housing nonprofits in tenant eviction matters. She also managed all the phases of litigation including depositions, document production, interrogatories, motions, legal trial preparations, and settlement negotiations. Pertaining to her earlier profession, Rachel Y. Marshall, Esq. served as the attorney where she retained as a pool attorney to manage conflict cases. She litigated criminal indictable cases including drug offenses, theft, sexual assault, armed robberies, and possession of deadly weapons.
