  1. 7 first-class cabin interiors that epitomize luxury

  2. Etihad Airways - The holy grail of luxury commercial flying, Etihad Airways Residence features not one but three separate spaces for guests – the living room, an in-suite bathroom and the world’s first truly private bedroom with a full sized double bed and four feather pillows. The living room comes with a Poltrona Frau two-seater sofa and an ottoman with a minibar, a 32-inch LCD TV. There is a pair of foldable tables that guests can use to dine in. The bedroom design is simple with geometric patterns, an almost wall to wall mirror, state of the art lighting system and LED reading lamps. The private bathroom has a shower and products from Acqua di Parma. The Etihad Airways Residence is definitely iconic in luxury interior design.

  3. Cathay Pacific - Designed by world-renowned firm, Foster + Partners, Cathay Pacific’s first-class cabin is a different league of sophistication in the sky altogether. Think white leather, dark grey and warm brown seats complemented by handmade woolen carpets that enhances the element of quiet luxury. Upholstered in specially-designed covers, the airline’s signature first-class seats are a class apart. Travelers will delight in the custom-designed reading light which casts fewer shadows while working or dining. Finally, what’s a luxury interior design of a first class cabin without a refurbished bathroom.

  4. KLM - Designed by eminent interior designer HellaJongerius, KLM’s business class cabins are all about luxury and comfort. Inspired by its immediate surroundings, in a manner of speaking, the Milky Way; the cabins are done up in a palette of neutral colors blue, purple, grey, brown and white. The Dutch designer along with her team at Jongeriuslab evolved with this palette because light conditions and temperatures above the clouds makes all colors lean towards red. These colors also help create the illusion of space. What’s impressive is that this luxury interior design also incorporates sustainability; for instance, the floor carpets have been made from recycled uniforms.

  5. TAM - Created by the apex in jetliners design, PriestmanGoode have gone above and beyond regular luxury offerings in their design of a first-class cabin for Brazilian airline TAM. The aim was to achieve a home in the sky, and PriestmanGoode did just that, with sofas, wardrobes with soft finishes. The seats are custom made and were developed in collaboration with BE Aerospace. Upholstered in the softest grey fabric with an accent of bright green, the seats are fully equipped for comfort with a reading lamp, a table and a TV screen and the footstools have been substituted by sofas. To add to the luxury, the seats come with a touchscreen seat controller with a user interface designed by PriestmanGoode.

  6. Air France - The French are synonymous with uber luxurious style and design; and La Première, the first-class cabins for Air France are no exception. This luxury interior design by PriestmanGoode showcases leather, suede and wood in their cabins for Air France. Indulge in an individual suite of three square meters of personal space replete with a large dining table, bespoke bedside lamp, a flat two-meter-long bed, private wardrobe and seats with storage space.

  7. Swiss Air - With Swiss Air’s first-class cabins you are spoilt for choice as they come in three privacy options - fully open, semi-open or fully enclosed. Travelers are in for a treat with PriestmanGoode’sluxury interior design combining a wooden dining table, a flat bed, and a design that integrates storage into the space. The classy interiors, soothing fabrics and perks of first class flying would make you never want to leave!

  8. British Airways - Who would believe that it was Kelly Hoppens debut in designing for the skies after witnessing the first-class cabin for British Airways. The smart herringbone-seat layout of the cabin ensures complete and total privacy. The seats convert into six-and-a-half-foot-long flat beds at touch of a button! True to her signature style which is luxurious and contemporary, the cabins are done up in nothing but the finest - Connolly leather, Hulton Getty photography, Wedgewood china, Irish linens, velvet-trim blankets.
