  2. What Is The WORK Of NAPHA? The Work • Register horses and maintain historical record and pedigrees • Maintain and Promote association membership, print a directory, respond to inquiries about the horse • Provide an avenue for the calculation of regional show points focused on National points and awards • Host an Annual Membership Meeting • Host a National Horse Show

How Many Owner Transfers Have We Processed?You’ll be surprised, the number is up.We made changes to 7,752 records (up from 4385 in 2007).  These numbers include new registrations, owner transfers, changes to gelding or stallion, name, markings or color, updating records with DNA case numbers, merging of the AA records with NAPHA, et Owner Transfers Owner Transfers

WHAT WE ACCOMPLISHED IN 2008 • We successfully defended our registration rules • We established consistent electronic communication - President’s UPDATE • We designed and established a new website for NAPHA • We worked with Stud Book to calculate annual national points for members • We reduced NAPHA’s expenses accordingly • We gave everyone an opportunity to register without penalty or late fees • We hosted the best National Show yet.

HOW ABOUT THE STRATEGIC PLAN STARTED IN 2006 Goal 1: Improve Communication Activities l Utilize Website More l Redesign Website l Utilize Mass Emails l Increase Frequency of Newsletter Accomplishments l Newsletter discontinued due to cost l Website was used far more completely l Utilizing Website l New website in place l Mass emails utilized/creation of President’s UPDATE

Goal 3: Stabilize Finances Activities • l Review Prior Year Income and Expenses • l Analyze the Need for Budget Reductions • l Analyze Programs for Funding • l Adopt a Budget and Implement Accomplishments • l Reductions made • l Funding Activities Approved • l Budget Enacted & Cash Flow Analysis Completed

  11. Goal 4: Address Key Registration Issues Activities l Move AAOBPPH Records to Texas l Hire Assistant Registrar l Integrate AA Records into Studbook Online Accomplishments l Records being integrated

WHERE ARE WE GOING & WHAT WILL WE DO • Annual Stallion Service Auction • On-Line Horse Auction • Launch new user friendly format for Stud Book on-Line • Launch advertising capability for members for sales horses through SBOL • Develop news release packages for regional clubs to promote shows • Develop capacity for On-line membership renewals.
