  1. ATIVAN: A TREATMENT FOR INSOMNIA AND ANXIETY Ativan, the medication, used to treat anxiety disorder is commonly known by the name Lorazepam. Also, the drug helps to cure sleeping problems and insomnia. It belongs to the class of drugs benzodiazepine, which is also used to treat alcohol withdrawal. The medicine helps to cure sleep difficulty because of stress and seizures. It is used for short term relief of anxiety. The drug should not be used for the long term, say more than four months.
