Moving Ahead – Leading with Standards for Safety • ASC Z245 standards development program will underwent a thorough outside audit in January and received an excellent report. • Janice Bradley has added leadership and professional management to the program • Issues impacting existing standards are being more expeditiously addressed • Significant progress at the recent meetings for Compactor and Baler standards • Meetings for Refuse Vehicles and Transfer Stations scheduled in November

WASTEC Strategic Plan 2010-2012 Core Objectives: • Continue the development of waste services industry equipment safety standards to meet the needs of manufacturers and users. • Expand product coverage and member participation in the Product Production Statistics and Market Activity Index Survey Program. • Provide quality opportunities for members to network with peers, customers and vendors.

  15. WASTEC Strategic Plan 2010-2012 Core Objectives: • Continue to improve professional education program quality and opportunities. Provide information, training and tools to enable companies as better environmental stewards and expand business opportunities through manufacturing and environmental sustainability. • Market the WASTEC brand and the value the association provides to solid waste and recycling industry manufacturers; to solid waste collection, transportation and disposal companies; and to waste generators.

WASTEC Strategic Plan 2010-2012 Core Objectives: • Work through the Environmental Industry Associations and Penton to develop programs that recognize the importance of WASTEC members to the success of WasteExpo, and provide financial incentives to members of the Association for exhibiting at WasteExpo.

Focus Areas for 2010 • Market the WASTEC brand through advertising, magazine feature articles, press releases, communications and WASTEC website • Provide information and tools to help members take advantage of “green” marketing and business opportunities • Grow WASTE INDUSTRY MARKETPLACE Network Search Engine/Buyer’s Guide and make it THE ultimate location for buyer’s of solid waste and recycling equipment • Create additional value for WASTEC members
