The Solution – Phase 1 • Enable access to Host-based systems using a hybrid technology approach • IBM WebSphere Host Access Transformation System (HATS) • Mobile Computing Devices (Laptops, Blackberries, etc) • Air card connectivity • Quickly transform host system applications to web based applications • Add additional business logic to the existing host system • Rapidly create hybrid applications between host systems and current web apps

What exactly is HATS? • IBM Middleware technology • Runs on IBM WebSphere Application Server • Sits between the AS400 and the End User • Translates native (5250) datastream to HTML • Screens can be enhanced with GUI controls • Multiple AS400 screens can be combined into one • Macros can perform multiple-screen functions in the background • Business rules can be implemented and enforced
