    1. The 5th Pillar of Islam: Hajj Assessment Lesson Objectives: To understand the religious practices demonstrated on Hajj. To reflect upon the significance of Hajj to the lives of Muslims.

    2. Task Imagine you are a Muslim pilgrim. Write a diary entry explaining what you do at each stage of Hajj, what this teaches you and how this makes a difference to your life now you have done it. You can write your entries on the A3 map provided or word process your diary using the map as a guide. Use the levels ladder and check list to help you.

    3. Check list I have: Identified what the Kabah is, why it is important and what takes place there. Explained the significance of the zamzam well and what takes place there. Made the connection between what happened at Arafat and Muslims own lives. Understood the significance of the stoning of the devil and what this represents. Explained why hair is cut and an animal sacrificed at the last stage of Hajj. Reflected upon the importance of Hajj to Muslims and how this makes a difference to their lives. Used key words correctly. Demonstrated skills in empathy.
