  4. Billiards Tournament • Our Purpose • To get a different crowd involved in IMS • Use as an opportunity to help promote other events • Hold an alternative to our lengthy seasons

  5. Time To Start Marketing • The Four P’s (Marketing Mix) • Product • Price • Place • Promotion • Unofficial 5th P - Positioning • Essential in promoting an event and marketing a product

  6. Awareness • Inform the necessary staff about event details

  7. Product • What is it that you’re trying to market? • Billiards Tournament

  8. Price • Select a price for your event • What will be your BEP or “break even point”? • What will it take to make a profit? • How many participants would be ideal? • Also Consider: Who will this event be available to? • Billiards Tournament Price $5

  9. Place • Find an ideal place with: • Exposure • Accessibility • Suitable for Activity • Availability (Make sure to reserve space) • Billiards room inside the Recreation Center

  10. Promotion • Flyers • Put in classrooms, Charlie Browns, library, hallways, mailboxes, Student Union can help with posting.
